Anticipation... It's making me wait!

Have you ever been so excited about something that you couldn't wait until that moment in time arrived? It's kind of like waiting for your birthday as a kid, or waiting to leave for vacation, or a special trip, or a visit from someone, or maybe just some much needed quiet time.

That is what it has been like for me and many who await this Sunday's re-launch of FaithWalk...

There are a lot of popular quotes that come to my mind, like "sometimes, good things, take time..."; "a watched pot doesn't boil..."; "that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"; and even "hey y'all, watch this!" For me, all of them resonate in some way with the emotions and anticipation of the next couple of days.

For those of you who subscribe to this blog, but don't know, this Sunday (September 16th), is our official re-launch date for FaithWalk. It's the beginning of something new — a new chapter in in the life of a new community of faith. We've spent the summer praying, preparing, getting ready, and "counting down" until liftoff! For many of us, the anticipation of this day has more to do with looking forward to what God is going to do in the days, weeks, months, and even years ahead. The target is a new orbit fueled by a new vision, which can be communicated in four words — "Safe space. Your pace."

On tap for this Sunday is special music by Les Hall, previewing songs from his soon to be released CD. Les will be in concert at FaithWalk the first part of October. Also, following the worship time Sunday, we will share in a relaxing BBQ lunch! And the kids can jump to their heart's content on the Moonwalk we will have set up!

So, if you are here in the Greensboro/Burlington area, I hope you can come out, worship with us, and join in the fellowship and celebration. It's going to be a great day! The only problem for me is the anticipation... it's making me wait!
