 Bill Gibson is an aspiring communicator and the lead pastor of FaithWalk, a new United Methodist community of faith, located in Gibsonville, NC. His passion is communicating the Gospel message to the skeptical, unchurched, disconnected, and frustrated (through every way he can dream up), with a focus on engaging today's emerging culture.
He is a second-career pastor (never expecting to be a pastor) who spent more than 16 years working in business and marketing. Specifically, his focus was interactive branding, business development, and image marketing. He is also a former United States Marine and veteran of the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm).
He studied at East Tennessee State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design/Commercial Art, and studied Business at Tusculum College. Additionally, he received a Bachelor of Science in Ministry/Biblical Studies from Southern Christian University. And he is currently working on his Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School, Duke University.
He loves to hike, write, and create, and has a special connection to the mountains. His two favorite places are Walt Disney World and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He and his wife (and best friend) Traci have three wonderful kids — Tyler, Allison, and JC. East Tennessee is home.
